Coronavirus (Covid19) Update
Divisions, Regions, Centres, Club Band,
Singers and Groupings
17 March 2020

Update from the Governance Office

The current outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) is an unprecedented situation that the
Club is closely monitoring and following the advice given by the UK Government and
Public Health England.
Please find the latest guidance for Divisions, Regions and Centres that are due to run
events, rallies and gatherings.
( Please note that this guidance is under regular review and will be subject to change as
developments progress. Take note of the date and time stamps at the bottom of the page ).
1 Rallies - the Club’s site network remains open at this time, and therefore we are
not currently advising that all rallies should be cancelled. All units on a rally field
must follow the spacing guidelines as set out in Centre Guidance to ensure
adequate social distancing. Any social events associated with a rally should not
2 The decision about whether a rally should proceed needs to take place locally
based on the personnel available to marshall the event and whether your Centre
feels that it is able to run the rally, mindful of Government advice about the over
70s age group, and those with underlying health issues. Attendance numbers also
need to be taken into account, and if they fall below the level which would make a
rally viable, then the advice would be that the rally should not proceed. A refund
should be offered if a rally is postponed or if the member chooses to cancel their
attendance at a rally because of the guidance around coronavirus.
3 If your Division, Region or Centre is about to hold a social event , eg dinner dance,
or other form of social gathering, then you are advised to either cancel or postpone
to a later date.
4 Division, Region and Centre meetings that are held in enclosed spaces, eg in
homes or halls are not essential and should be postponed for the time being.
However, this is an opportunity for Committees to look into alternative methods of
holding meetings
, eg Zoom Cloud meetings, or other applications, that allow you to
hold a meeting remotely. These applications can be downloaded onto a phone or
tablet, or used on a PC and are worth looking into. Committees could utilise
messaging groups to share information.
5 In light of Government guidance about social gatherings, all Question Time
Events that are in the calendar between now and June should not take place - this
includes Welsh Division (already cancelled), South East Region, Anglia Region,
South West Region, Northern Region and West Central Region.
The Club will be able to alert the members who received an email invitation. Please
put notices on your websites and Facebook pages to this effect, and advise any
members who have confirmed their attendance. If you are able to rearrange the
event for a date later in the year or in 2021, then please do so, particularly if this
enables you to avoid any cancellation penalties from the venue.
6 Ultimately, members should be mindful and make appropriate decisions based on
their own circumstances and for their own wellbeing. The Club is providing regular
updates on the Club website - or
alternatively follow the Club’s Facebook page.
Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay safe.

11 09 19  Hello to all the Members of the Mid West Yorkshire Centre

As many of you know we are a small centre with a very small committee who works hard to put on a rally programme every year for your enjoyment.

The current committee have been in their respective posts for many years including our Chairman Keith Fielding who has been Chair for the last 10 years.

The Centre committee write this email feeling quite sad and but telling ourselves it’s time for others to move the centre forward.

Keith our centre chairman has lead the centre for 10  years and in 2020 the centre celebrates 35 years in existence, with that in mind we need to find more people to join the committee to help support the centre otherwise there may not be a 36th year.

On the 6th October this year 2019 the current committee and Chairman are  prepared to continue for one more year  taking the centre through its 35th  year and having a fantastic 35th year  celebration weekend on the 28th-31st May at Wetherby racecourse.

However, In October 2020 Keith will be stepping down as centre chairman along with other key members of the committee providing the opportunity for a new chairman and committee to be elected and take the centre forward.

We know that many of you will have thought about joining the committee but worried about what you would have to do. What we are offering is the opportunity for you to join the committee this October 2019 and work with the current committee to learn and understand what is required.

All you need to do is express and interest to any of the current committee prior to the AGM on the 6th October 2019 and then come along to the meeting and sign up for a year.

We hope this is something that you as a member of Mid West Yorkshire Centre will take on to help and secure the future of the centre.

Regards from

Dance Award

Good afternoon,

I wonder if you can help please.

I’m the secretary of Gwent centre and we recently held our Welsh National caravan rally.

At the presentations on the last day we were unable to present the Visitors cup to the winning centre as it had not been returned to us.

On investigation, it was won by “Yorkshire” centre in 2017 in North Wales' rally In Anglesey.

I have now seen there are a few Yorkshire centres so am sending this email out to you all in hope I find the correct one!

If you can help in any way to locate this cup that would be wonderful.

Request from Gwent Centre  26 09 18

Good afternoon to you all

Once again we are fast approaching the AGM and I would love to see you there.

The Mid West is a small committee and is in need of more willing volunteers We are currently looking for a new quartermaster that can help with storage of the centres equipment.

Janet is busy preparing the rally program and is wanting Rally Marshall’s to run the weekends. Remember if your unable to be on site on Friday morning we can always ask one of the committee to help. The weekend can’t run with no Marshall’s so please try and help where you can.

For those that don’t know I have just returned from holiday in France and due to myself having emergency surgery the holiday - depending how you look at it was cut short/ extended.

Thank goodness for Red Pennent well worth the £190 Both janet and myself were looked after not only by them but by our friends who we went in holiday with and I just want to say “thank you” once again.

Marsden remains an ever popular venue both beginning and end of season there are still places available so feel free to message Janet.

Many thanks for your continued support

Message from our Chairman  10 09 18

Chairman Keith update

Well, I have to say firstly a big thank you to everyone who has sent messages and cards following my recent illness. Seams so long ago now. I understand the dinner dance was a memorable event not to mention the snow.

Janet arrived home at 3am covered in snow – a welcome cuppa tea was much needed.

The rallying season is in full swing and Janet and I are enjoying seeing many of you on the rally field for a drink or two.

Janet as always is being very organised and trying to book rallies for your enjoyment and whilst that might be the easy bit she need people to run the weekends. Come along a have a go, or come out of the woodwork and run them again. We are both available on a Friday or Thursday evening to be on site to help site the early arrivals for you.

Next year we are the host for the Joint Yorkshire Sports and would love full teams to join us in July. We are also host for the Northern Region AGM in December and although might not sound too interesting to many there will be a rally to run long side and the usual Mid-West socials to enjoy. As it will be held in December we are looking for hard standing and maybe some mulled wine.

The Summer school holidays are fast approaching and we along with many others are looking forward to our holidays, this year we plan to travel far and wide with friends enjoying a gin or two.

Well I hope to see many of you again.

Happy holidays

Chairman Keith – AKA Odd Socks

Message from our Chairman

Our New Money Man

It is with great pleasure that the centre welcomes aboard a new treasurer- Peter Jackson. Peter is now supporting the centre and helping in the role of treasurer enabling us to move forward.

I am sure he will enjoy a beer or two with us all on the rally field Peter and Susan have rallied with the centre for a number of years so will fit nicely with our “small in numbers, big at heart centre”

So it will be your round first Peter at the bar!!     28.02.18

Save The Date

My names is Kevin Ryles and I’m in my first year as Chairman of the Northern Region Caravan and Motorhome Club council .

I thought I would just let you know a little about the Northern Region of the Caravan and Motorhome Club council .

The Northern Region club council is responsible for representing the general matters of the club members and centre interests to the caravan and motorhome club council and to provide a means whereby the club interests of those members may be fostered .

The council is made up of a Chairman , vice chair person , secretary , treasurer, two representatives per centre , one none centre delegate , one of the vice chairmen of the club and a executive committee member of the club.

As a council we are very proud that many concerns that have been brought to the council we have been able to bring to a successful outcome .

Thank you for your support
